The Resolve Board:
- Provides governance of the Company
- Determines strategy,
- Directs, controls, scrutinises and evaluates the Company’s affairs
- Ensures compliance with the requirements of the Companies Act (plus other related legislative and regulatory requirements).
Resolve conducts the majority of its business through the Board which meets six or seven times a year. Members of the Board also attend occasional Away Days (normally one per year) to take a more strategic view of the Company’s effectiveness and its future development.
Board Members are appointed from Member Organisations and they support the delivery of the Company’s operations through representing Resolve at relevant activities.
Roger Griffiths (Chair)
Roger Griffiths has been a Board Member for 17 years. The Group consists of 4 partner associations, with properties in management from conurbations in Coventry and Birmingham to rural Herefordshire and Worcestershire, together with a range of specialist and supported housing properties. Roger has worked in Housing since 1967 and was until recently an Executive Director of Whitefriars Housing, the first metropolitan LSVT. He led the transfer of properties from Coventry City Council in 2000. He is active nationally in tackling Anti-Social Behaviour, being Chair of and a founder member of Resolve.
Jan heads up the Customer Services Directorate at Housing Plus and is responsible for strategy development and implementation across the Housing and Human Resources functions. Jan is passionate about developing a range of property types, tenures and services that support individuals and communities to have a good quality of life and independence. Jan has been a member of the Resolve Board since November 2011
Peter has been associated with Resolve since it started in 1995 and his involvement in strategic ASB issues stretches back beyond that. He now runs a housing consultancy but his background is in social housing, where he worked in London and Nottingham for more than 30 years. He also devotes a lot of time to Framework housing association in Nottingham, where he is Vice Chair of the board. He also Chairs Framework’s social enterprise, EVE Trades, which is in its second year and is doing a great deal to help vulnerable and homeless people into employment.
Maria is the Director of Derby Homes and has over 30 years’ experience working in Social Housing. Derby Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) which provides housing management and maintenance services to approximately 13,500 tenants of Derby City Council. The ALMO has ambitions to extend its new build programme to work alongside the council delivering much needed new social housing within the city. Maria has always believed that customers come first and still regularly attends residents meetings to ensure that Derby Homes continues to respond to their changing needs and aspirations.
Mario is the Executive Director for South Essex Homes who are Southend Council’s ALMO. His background is in Engineering and Building Construction although he has worked in the social housing sector for over 20 years and is a chartered member of the Charted institute of Housing and has been a Director of Resolve for three years.
Scott has 28 years experience in the housing sector and has been working in an executive capacity for 14 years. He has extensive experience of change management and performance improvement. having undertaken two stock transfers, worked on the formation of Paragon Community Housing Group in 2007 and more recently the formation of Stonewater, the merger between Raglan and Jephson Housing Groups in 2014/15.
Nick is Tenancy Services Manager at Your Homes Newcastle. With over 20 years experience working in housing management for a variety of social landlords, for the last 10 years Nick has specialised in developing policies and procedures to tackle anti-social behaviour in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne as well as managing Your Homes Newcastle’s ASB team.
Alex is Tenancy Enforcement Manager for the Guinness partnership leading the recently formed Tenancy Enforcement Team, which is the largest specialised Housing Team in the country. Alex has over 14 years’ experience working in the Housing Sector, with 12 of those years dedicated to Anti-social Behaviour and Community Safety. Alex has recently been appointed as a director of Resolve.
Liz Smith has worked in the field of ASB for over 13 years successfully improving Stockport Homes’ ASB service from one identified as an area of weakness in 2006 to a twice ASB Accredited service. Liz has introduced a number of new and innovative working practise in tackling ASB which had been highlighted as best practice and her experience in ASB sector ranges from the development of overarching strategies, policies and procedures, to customer engagement and delivering training to front line practitioners. Liz has recently been appointed as a director of Resolve.
