BTEC Level 2 - Award in Community Safety Case Work

This Pearson SRF BTEC Level 2 Award in Community Safety Case Work is for learners who investigate reports of Anti-Social Behaviour or address community safety issues.

It gives learners the opportunity to:

  • investigate reported cases of anti-social behaviour

  • informally resolve cases of anti-social behaviour

  • identify judicial steps to resolve anti-social behaviour cases to be able to assist more senior case workers

  • give advice & guidance to victims to increase community safety

The ability to successfully deal with Community Safety issues requires competence in undertaking Community Safety related Case Work. This involves investigating cases of anti-social behaviour, the implementation of strategies or interventions to resolve the issues and the provision of community safety advice to victims. This unit will provide learners with knowledge of how to investigate anti-social behaviour, how to record the progress of an investigation whilst implementing an escalating series of appropriate responses until the situation is resolved and what community safety related advice to give. The unit will additionally provide community safety advice on preventative and protection strategies.
